Many times, in my life, I have come across people who say to me that they always wanted to go travelling but never got the motivation to do so. I think for many the hardest part is just to simply stop your usual working life, get up and go. You cannot simply quit your job or you have friends and family you would miss? These points are irrelevant if you look at the bigger picture. Think of how much you are missing out on by working a normal 9-5 job that most people do not particularly want to do anyway. There is a whole world to explore and new exciting adventures to partake in. Now- I am not saying just abandon your children and go, there are always circumstances that make things difficult nonetheless with the mind frame and motivation you can make anything possible.

So, what do you have to think about first? The obvious point is having the money to support your initial start-up adventure from there you can often work part time abroad and make a living this way. If you have an internet based profession why not take it with you with freelance sites. Graphics design, online marketing roles or web developers can all be done anywhere across the globe which has an Internet connection. With the expansion of the world wide web and Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, now dedicating a whole new business model to just this, there really has never been a better time to travel with your profession. Otherwise simply save up. If you fancy visiting Asia of flying to Australia, getting to these places is not as expensive as you might think, and once there, you will find the everyday prices are extremely cheap.

Those who have not visited Malaysia I can tell you it was an absolutely fantastic place with some of the most stunning islands I have ever seen, just like the movies. Spending a lot of time in the capital, Kuala Lumpur also allowed me use the international airport hub to travel throughout South East Asia with ease while providing budget airlines like AirAsia for surprisingly cheap tickets.

The Internet and a backpacker

I went to various countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam. I was able to carry out my backpacker lifestyle using my blogger professional contacts to connect with other individuals and now I want more people to try for themselves these kinds of methods having been so fortunate myself. The Internet was a big part of my time whilst travelling, which many see as a distraction from the real adventure. I found it gave me time to reflect on my adventures, talk to friends and family back home, all well supporting me financially also. So a special thank-you to Sir Tim Berners-Lee for inventing the World Wide Web and allowing me to see what I have seen.

Why not start looking at where you would like to travel today? I had a friend get back from South America recently and I know it is becoming increasingly popular with travellers around the world for its relatively cheap transport and beautiful scenery, plus Rio has the next Olympics. There are so many other options, Asia, Europe, Africa, or stick to just one superb country that is Australia, with great whether, people and things to do. So, stop working your typical 9am to 5pm job, start researching where you want your adventure to take you, what sights you want to see, and how to go about it. Book your flights and get going!
